Oh boy, I certainly wouldn’t want to be in Bethesda’s place right now as every gamer is cursing them. Since the PC version of Skyrim’s latest update was delayed, we were hoping that it wouldn’t be haunted by bugs or issues. However, that’s not the case so make sure to avoid upgrading to it right now. Why? Because the damage/magic resistance is completely broken in the 1.2 version. Now this is a global issue and not something that only a bunch of PC gamers are experiencing so yeah, this is a crucial issue, especially if you are a Mage. Therefore, make sure to run the game in offline mode in order to avoid Steam’s auto-update functionality. Modder Nebula has just released a new version of his Texture Pack Overhaul for Bethesda’s RPG and we have to say that we are really impressed with it. Contrary to other texture packs that increase the normal/bump mapping and add some noise or sharpening effects, Nebula used new, custom textures. Naturally, some might find these textures better while others might feel that they are too different for their taste. You can find bellow more details about this Texture Pack, as well as some screenshots for it. It’s really funny how Skyrim suffers from the same issues that plagued Oblivion. As you may remember, one of them was the blurry textures in the distant landscapes and back then, modder Qarl released a texture pack that enhanced those distant textures. Bethesda tried to fix most of them in Skyrim, but you will still be able to notice some low-res textures in some panoramic views. Good news then that modder OpticShooter decided to release a mod that enhances Skyrim’s distant textures. Continue reading The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Enhanced Distant Textures is a must-have mod→
Remember when Crysis was released? What a graphical juggernaut, right? However, there was one thing that pissed off all those graphics whores out there and that was… the rocks. Man, the rocks were awful in Crysis. Not only were they blocky but they had such low-res textures that could literally destroy the whole immersion. Since then, every PC gamer is looking at – and taking screenshots of – every damn rock. And as Skyrim is so friendly to the modding community, guess what someone decided to re-texture? Oh yeah, you got that right; the bloody rocks. Hooray! Continue reading The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim; I tell you, it’s all about the rocks→
We were really annoyed by Skyrim’s latest patch. We don’t mind the Steam DRM that was introduced. But the fact that it broke some of the most useful mods was a bit hard to swallow. Thankfully though, there is a solution as modder ‘Monochrome Wench’ released Skyrim4GB; a tool to load Skyrim with the Large Address Aware executable flag set so the entire 4GB Virtual Memory Address Space can be used by the game. And yes, this tool is compatible with Skyrim’s latest DRM version so go ahead and grab it. The long awaited patch for Skyrim was promised to be released on November 28th for the consoles but PC gamers are getting a new patch until then. Patch 1.2 is slated for release on Thanksgiving and promises to feature new and major features. This new PC patch basically updates the game’s executable file and we should warn everyone that Skyrim won’t be compatible with the LAA fix – a mod to use more than 2GB of RAM – after applying this patch. Thankfully, all other mods and .ini tweaks are unaffected by this update. Continue reading The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – New PC Patch Is Out Now; Not compatible with LAA→
