Volition announced today that the PC version of Saint Row: The Third won’t be a mere port – like pretty much all of their previous games. Contrary to Saints Row 2, Volition decided to develop the PC version in-house, so that the PC version will be at the same level of playability as the console versions. Okay, this is really shocking – and at the same time disappointing – to say the least. The PC version of Saints Row: The Third has just been leaked to various torrent sites and no, this is not a joke. According to our sources, this is a Clone DVD version and weights around 8.56GB. Thankfully the game hasn’t been cracked yet but what worries us is that the cracking groups have over a month to figure out its protection system and crack it. We seriously don’t know whether THQ and Volition went too far with this new trailer or not. This is a parody of COD: MW3 and Battlefield 3 and although it’s kind of cool, we can’t see the reason behind it. Surely all the aforementioned games are coming in the same month but Saints Row: The Third is an over-the-top fun sandbox game, whereas COD: MW3 and BF3 are pure FPS games. In other words, they are addressed to completely different players. The only logical explanation is that THQ wanted to attract as many players as possible. THQ and Volition have just confirmed that the PC version of Saints Row: The Third will officially support AMD’s Eyefinity. This means that PC gamers can use multiple monitors to enjoy this upcoming third person sandbox game. The companies have also released a screenshots in which we can see the game running in ‘triple-monitors’ with Eyefinity and can be viewed after the jump.
