Runic Games has announced that its will reveal the release date for its highly anticipated action RPG, Torchlight II, during the PAX event, on August 31st. The company has also unveiled its PAX plans and you can read them at the game’s official website. Torchlight II was originally meant to be released alongside (or before) Diablo III but Runic Games decided to delay it. The reason of the delay was the company’s desire to further polish it before releasing it. Runic Games has unveiled some changes that have been made to Torchlight II after the end of its weekend stress test. According to the company, the character skill pane arrangements have been re-worked to allow finer distribution of skills without being arranged in the classic ‘tree’ style, and passive skills are separated and unlock for investment much earlier. Torchlight II’s closed beta is underway and YouTube’s member ‘Fr0styNinja’ has decided to upload the first 5 minutes of it. In this video, you’ll see the character creation, the game’s intro and some in-game footage from the first level. Truth be told, the game seems similar to Diablo 3 (in graphics and its artistic style). But then again, Torchlight had always a ‘cartoon-ish’ style. Runic Games have released a new in-game video for their upcoming action RPG, Torchlight II. This video is preview of the Berserker charge-bar mechanic from Torchlight II. As the Berserker attacks her enemies, she gradually gains charge. When the charge limit is reached, the Berserker goes into a Frenzy state, where all attacks result in Critical Hits.
