Report: Watch_Dogs Is Fully Playable On Systems With 4GB RAM, Does Not Use More Than 2GB At High Settings

As most of you would expect, Ubisoft did not provide us with a review code for Watch_Dogs (which explains why our Performance Analysis article has been slightly delayed). Therefore, we decided to purchase Ubisoft’s title as we’re pretty sure that all of our readers are interested in it. Continue reading Report: Watch_Dogs Is Fully Playable On Systems With 4GB RAM, Does Not Use More Than 2GB At High Settings

Watch_Dogs – This Is What Ubisoft Targeted For Next-Gen, Possible Extra PC Enhancements Uncovered

NeoGAF’s member ‘Vuze’ has shared three Watch_Dogs screenshots – captured by NeoGAF’s Vortex – from what seems to be a ‘hidden’ render configuration. According to Vuze, these settings were the ones that Ubisoft was aiming for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, before it being downgraded to its final build. Watch_Dogs – Final Retail Build Versus E3 2012 Build – Full Demarco Mission

YouTube’s member ‘Cartelstrims369’ has created an amazing comparison between the Demarco side-mission of the E3 2012 build and the final build. This video shows some additional features that have been removed from the final version of the game. The E3 2012 build featured smoke effects comparable to Nvidia’s PhysX GPU-accelerated smoke effects that were present in Batman: Arkham series. Well, this gorgeous effect has been completely removed. Not only that, but the interior of Demarco’s club lacks shadows, as well as mist and and smoke effects. It’s also obvious from this comparison that the lighting system has been downgraded as everything feels so ‘unnatural’ compared to the E3 2012 build. Moreover, the bloom effects during slow-motion have been removed. Enjoy! Continue reading Watch_Dogs – Final Retail Build Versus E3 2012 Build – Full Demarco Mission

Watch_Dogs – PC Final Build Versus E3 2012 Build – Details Comparison

A couple of days ago, we compared the Xbox One final version of Watch_Dogs with the E3 2012 PC build. Blasphemy, they said. How can you compare a console version with the PC build, they said. Well, the reason was quite obvious why we decided to do such a thing. You see, we strongly believed that all major effects were present in the Xbox One version, meaning that there wouldn’t be major differences between them. And we were right as there are no ‘specific’ particles effects available on the PC (other than HBAO+ and TXAA). Continue reading Watch_Dogs – PC Final Build Versus E3 2012 Build – Details Comparison

Confirmed: New Drivers From AMD & Nvidia Coming Tomorrow, Optimized For Watch_Dogs

The owner of Guru3D, Hilbert Hagedoorn, has confirmed that both Nvidia and AMD will release new drivers tomorrow that will be optimized for Watch_Dogs. Watch Dogs VS Grand Theft Auto IV – PC Video Comparison – Attention To Detail Comparison

GTA IV is still considered one of the best looking open-world games on the PC (thanks to all the graphical mods that have been released these past years). Therefore, it’s only natural to expect a comparison between Rockstar’s old title and Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs. YouTube’s member ‘Eduard Mackarchew’ has created a video comparison between them. As we can see, GTA IV sports some effects that are not available on Watch_Dogs, such as shadows being casted by the headlights of your car. And while the visuals in Watch_Dogs are better (I mean, we’re comparing a game that was released almost 6 years ago with one that is coming out tomorrow), the attention to detail in GTA IV’s world is way beyond what Ubisoft has achieved. Also, while there are individual waves in GTA IV, I personally prefer the water effects in Watch_Dogs. Enjoy the video! Watch_Dogs Suffers From Optimization Issues, Runs With Sub-50FPS Without Maxing Out AMD’s FX-8350

Our reader ‘Khodam Hoelo’ has shared with us a video, showing Watch_Dogs running on AMD’s 8-core processor, FX-8350, that was accompanied with an Nvidia GTX780 GPU. As we can clearly see, there are major slowdowns even when this 8-core CPU is clocked at 4.4Ghz. Good news is that the game scales on 8-core CPUs. The bad news is that the game did not stress that particular CPU (as well as the GPU) while the framerate was taking a dive at 40s, suggesting that both Nvidia and Ubisoft will have to release patches and new drivers in order to further polish it.
