Brazilian website ‘Techtudo’ revealed that the next Assasin’s Creed game will be taking place in Brazil. According to the website, this information comes from Ubisoft Brazil’s managing director Bertrand Chaverot, though Ubisoft has not confirmed anything officially yet. Today, Ubisoft announced the long-awaited Might & Magic Heroes VI standalone expansion, Shades of Darkness, set to be released on Windows PC on the 28th February 2013. According to its press release, this fully fledged standalone game will feature a new faction, Dungeon, led by the Dark Elves, and two new campaigns unveiling another piece of history in the Might & Magic Universe. Today, Ubisoft and New Regency announced that they are partnering on the forthcoming Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell film. Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the film and television division of Ubisoft, will develop the Splinter Cell movie in close collaboration with New Regency. Ubisoft also recently announced it attached award-winning actor Tom Hardy and up-and-coming screenwriter Eric Warren Singer (“The International”) to the film. Now this is how you develop a PC version of a multi-platform title. Far Cry 3 PC is the definition of what developers can achieve when they’re taking advantage of the PC. Not only does the game look fabulous, it also scales incredibly on four CPU cores, and showcases the huge difference between a game that is optimized for dual-cores and one that is optimized for quad-cores. It’s ironic – given the fact that this is a Ubisoft title – but Far Cry 3 is the most optimized PC game of 2012 and you can read below the reasons why we consider it this good. Today, Ubisoft announced the Assassin’s Creed III’s first downloadable content pack, The Hidden Secrets, is now available for Season Pass owners on X360 and PC and will be available tomorrow for PS3 . The Hidden Secrets downloadable pack will be available broadly on December 11 on Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 and PC, and will be available on December 13 on the PlayStation Network. The first downloadable content pack will release for the Nintendo Wii U at a later date. Cameron Manwaring has informed us about a new live-action short film for Far Cry 3, that was made by Devin Graham, Leanna Pareja, Jacob Schwarz, and Clint Jones. It’s a great video, though the first-person perspective cannot come close to the one made by FreddieW. Obviously, the team still needs time to refine its skills, however this attempt in capturing Far Cry 3’s atmosphere is definitely cool. Kudos to them, and you can view the video below. Enjoy! Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, in which Animation Director, Kristjan Zadziuk, takes us on a tour of some of the non-lethal take downs. Stealth fans will definitely like this video, and it will be interesting to see whether the game’s level design will offer proper stealth approaches or not.
