This Is Why Ubisoft Does Not Deserve PC Gamers’ Respect – Investing In F2P Model To Increase Revenue

You see, this is what is precisely wrong with today’s gaming industry. We PC gamers have criticised Ubisoft’s actions in the past – especially its controversial DRM – and hoped that the French company would listen and address those issues. We were not bashing Ubisoft because it’s the cool thing to do. No, we want a better gaming experience from the company that brought us Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. In fact, we were hoping that Ubisoft would, somehow, treat us the way we should be treated in the first place. However, that won’t happen anytime soon. As GamesIndustry reported, Ubisoft is investing in free-to-play on PC, in a way to increase and guarantee revenue. Ubisoft reconfirms Assassin’s Creed 3 PC DX11 support; will feature Higher Resolution Textures

We seriously don’t know whether we should be excited about the following news or not. You see, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier PC was advertised as a great PC port from Ubisoft and what we got was an un-optimized console port that had major CPU issues/limitations. Not only that, but the DX11 features that were added were not polished and it took Ubisoft a couple of months to fix a number of performance issues. Therefore, the fact that Assassin’s Creed 3 will support DX11 features and higher resolution textures is both a good and a bad sign. Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Extended Gamescom 2012 Walkthrough – This Is Why You Should Not Get Disappointed

Ubisoft has released a new, extended walkthrough of Splinter Cell: Blacklist and the level that was demonstrated was the same one that appeared in this year’s E3. This walkthrough is centered around the action path of Splinter Cell: Blacklist and although Ubisoft stated that there will be a stealth approach in almost every mission, most Splinter Cell fans will be furious with what the company has done to their amazing franchise. From Dust, Driver San Francisco, H.A.W.X. 2 and Silent Hunter 5 are $1 this week for the PC

Now this is a clever way to promote your online DRM system. Ubisoft has announced that it is offering a number of its games for only 1 dollar this week. Clearly, this is a deal you cannot miss, however be warned that most of these games are plagued by UPLAY and its always-online DRM. But then again, the price is so low that we can’t really see why you should avoid getting them, as this is the offer most of you have been waiting for. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier – Major PC Update 1.4 Released

Ubisoft has finally released the highly anticipated ‘Update 1.4’ for the PC version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. This update comes with global improvements in FPS for all configurations, as well as fixes for several stability issues that occurred during map loading. Kudos to Ubisoft for at least putting some effort into fixing some of the major issues that were present in the PC version of the game. We strongly believe that the company should had delayed the game’s release date in order to offer what they had initially promised, but then again that’s just us.
