World of Warcraft Loses 1.3 Million Subscribers In Three Months

World of Warcraft
Well, it was bound to happen, eventually. In its latest financial report, Activision revealed that World of Warcraft has lost 1.3 million subscribers in the last three months. Despite that, WoW is still the most famous and profitable subscription-based MMO on the planet, with more than 8.3 million subscribers. However, that decline proves that F2P MMOs are gaining ground, and that it will be tougher for newer games (that are subscription-based) to meet the success of WoW (or even surpass it). China’s World of Warcraft Theme Park Opens Its Gates

World of Warcraft
I seriously don’t know who is crazier; Blizzard for not offering WOW’s license to this theme park or China’s organizers for not acquiring the rights? In fact, this could very well be the only theme park I want to visit right now. Since I can’t though, I’ll have to simply rely on mere images to satisfy my need. Thankfully, Reddit’s user ‘FrancescaO_O’ has captured a lot of shots from this park, that can be viewed below. Kudos to our reader ‘Ghost Rider LSOV’ for spotting it! On the other hand, World of Warcraft’s subscribers number has dropped from 10.2 million to 9.1 million. An impressive number, nonetheless, but this drop is definitely something that worries both Blizzard and Activision. Perhaps the upcoming release of Mists of Pandaria will boost the game’s numbers.
