Remember when Oblvion was announced and Bethesda showcased the amazing dynamic lighting system that would be featured in it? Oh God, you can’t imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that our beloved company had decided to dumb it down. And guess what; Skyrim suffers from the very same thing. Oh yeah, a lot of light sources are don’t cast shadows and as a result of that, most of the interiors look flat. A nice workaround is the implementation of SSAO but lets be honest, a dynamic lighting system should be present in most modern-games. I have a confession to make; I’m a huge fan of DBZ. My best character is Trunks, I loved the Cell saga, and was disappointed with the recent remake of the anime that has, ironically, ended before the Buu saga. Imagine that, a remake and we didn’t get to see the amazing battle between Majin Vegeta and Goku. Bollocks. But anyway, back on topic. Like most of you, I enjoyed Bid for Power back in the days and I was hoping for a DBZ mod in Skyrim. And I’m delighted to tell you that there is currently a DBZ overhaul for Skyrim that looks pretty cool. Skyrim was one of the most anticipated games of 2011 and as you’d expect, a DLC for it will be released this year. Although we don’t have any release date or juicy details about it, VP of PR and marketing for Bethesda, Pete Hines, hinted in his Twitter that a DLC is a ‘safe bet‘ and we should stay tuned for more. Bethesda will obviously focus on it now that both the Creation Kit and Patch 1.4 are out of the way, so expect some news about it in the coming weeks or months. There is no denying that Skyrim can look amazing. And although we’ve seen some mind-blowing environmental screenshots, nothing can prepare you for the following screenshots that show off the custom-made armors/clothes that modders have created for Bethesda’s RPG. The following screenshots have been captured by Unr3al2004 and they are among the best we’ve ever seen. Naturally, you can find these custom armors in Skyrim Nexus. Enjoy! LOTR and Oblivion fans, here is something special for you today. The Merp Team has released a new beta version for their upcoming total conversion, Middle-Earth Roleplaying Project. In other words, this is what most LOTR fans have been waiting for. Continue reading LOTR’s Middle Earth comes to Oblivion with MERP; Project will be ported to Skyrim→
Seems that some modders have been waiting patiently for the release of the Creation Kit and Steam’s Workshop, as modder Arthmoor has just released a very promising mod for Skyrim. Open Cities Skyrim is a comprehensive project that aims to bring back at least part of the feel of Morrowind – specifically how most of the cities were a natural part of the world and you could just walk in without loading screens. The added immersion and realism goes a long way, probably a lot more than you might think.
