In October 2024, we shared a video that showcased what Silent Hill 2 Remake would look like with fixed camera angles. And today, we have another concept video, showcasing 10 minutes from SH2R with fixed camera angles.
Now before getting too excited, this is a concept video. It isn’t a mod that you can download. This is a tribute to the old game that all die-hard SH2 fans enjoyed.
To capture these scenes, Rising Tides used the existing FreeCam mod for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Ultimately, he’d love to create a fixed-camera angle mod for it. However, as Jaime told us, they lack the programming knowledge to create it.
Ultimately, Rising Tides wants to collaborate with other modders so that they can create a fixed-camera angle mod. So, if you are a modder, you can get in touch with them. And who knows? In 2025 we may finally get a mod like this.
Speaking of Silent Hill 2, PC gamers can remove the 30fps cap from the in-engine cutscenes by using this mod. Then we have this mod that removes the “hero” light from James and Maria. Another cool mod is this one which removes the iconic fog from the game. Owners of a VR heardset can use this mod to play the game in first-person and with VR support. Finally, you can download these mods to improve the 3D models of Angela and Maria.
To be honest, I’d love to play Silent Hill 2 Remake with fixed camera angles. The game by default has a third-person perspective, and we already have a first-person mod. So, a fixed-camera angle mod is the next big thing that could come out for it. It would also be a perfect mod for all SH2 purists. So, consider me interested in something like that.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
