The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has just been released and as we’ve already reported, PC gamers can already enjoy it at native 4K resolutions with 60fps. And below, you can find two videos, showcasing the game running smoothly on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.
Currently, both Yuzu and Ryujinx can launch and run the game. And while the game is locked at 30fps, there is already a 60fps Mod that you can download for it.
Now as you will see, you’ll need a really powerful CPU in order to run the game with 60fps. YouTube’s ‘K-O-Haj’ has used an Intel Core i9 13900KF and in numerous scenes, Yuzu was constantly hammering its main CPU core/thread. During those scenarios, the framerate could drop to the mid-50s. However, and for the most part, the game already runs with 60fps.
In theory, an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D could potentially provide better results. Future versions of Yuzu and Ryujinx will also – obviously – improve overall performance.
Now in case you didn’t know, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has numerous drops to 20fps on the Nintendo Switch. As such, right now, the best way to experience the game is on a high-end PC. It’s ironic, really.
As a bonus, I’ve also included a video, showing off the game at 8K.
Enjoy!
