NVIDIA has shared two new in-engine videos for the upcoming third-person action game, Black State. These trailers were captured on an NVIDIA RTX 5090 with DLSS 4. So, be sure to check them out.
Black State will be among the first games to support NVIDIA DLSS 4 and Reflex 2. The game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5 and it will take advantage of Lumen. Moreover, it will have support for ray-traced reflections on PC.
Black State is a third-person action adventure game that appears to be heavily inspired by Meta Gear Solid and The Matrix. For an indie title, it pushes some truly incredible graphics. I mean, look at the gameplay video. It looks amazing.
One of the big features of the game will be its portal doors. This will make the gameplay exciting and always changing. Or at least that’s what the devs claim. Every time you open a door, you can find yourself in a new adventure, which makes the game thrilling and a bit dangerous. You can also go back through the same door, giving you control over where you explore.
I was really impressed when I first saw Black State. And, to its credit, Motion Blur has not downgraded it. At least in these latest trailers.
As I’ve said, Unreal Engine 5 has allowed small studios to create games with graphics that can punch above their weight. And, Black State is a perfect example of this. Yes, we’ve seen some UE5 games that suffered from optimization issues. We’ve also seen games with both traversal and shader compilation stutters. However, those are not tied to UE5. These are issues that the devs have overlooked.
There is currently no ETA on when Black State will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
