Bloodborne looks unbelievable on PC in this latest comparison

Last month, we informed you about the release of shadPS4 Version 0.3.0. That version of the PS4 emulator packed all the visual improvements that its team has been making for Bloodborne. And, from the looks of it, a new version is already out. Not only that but Bloodborne now runs better than ever on shadPS4. In fact, it’s almost on par with the PS4 and PS5 versions.

So, here is a video comparison between the PS5 version and the PC version of Bloodborne. The PS5 version is basically the PS4 version, without any PS5 enhancements. On the other hand, the PC version is the game running on shadPS4 V0.3.1.

What’s crucial to note is that the PC version is the vanilla version. In other words, it doesn’t have the HD Texture Packs we shared last month. So, basically, the PC version can look way better than what is being shown here.

From what I can see, the only thing that the PC version is missing is the fog. Once the shadPS4 team manages to fix this, the emulated version will be on par with the PS4/PS5 version. Again, this is nuts. I wasn’t expecting Bloodborne to be feature-complete on shadPS4 until late 2024. However, here we are in October with a game that is almost fully emulated.

Not only that but performance still appears to be great. I still can’t believe that Bloodborne runs with 60fps on shadPS4. I mean, older PlayStation consoles have major issues with their emulators. Yet here we are with a PS4 emulator that runs silky smooth. It’s unbelievable.

Now I’m sure that there might be places in which emulation is not that great. The biggest issue was the “overbloomed lighting” which has been fixed. Moreover, the game can be played from start to finish. Yup, it seems that it’s fully playable on PC via shadPS4.

As said, you can also download HD Texture Packs which can improve the quality of the game’s textures. Right now, there are two must-have packs. The first pack overhauls numerous textures, whereas the second one focuses on armors.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
