As you may remember, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was the first COD that lacked a single-player campaign. However, it appears that Treyarch was working on such a campaign before cancelling it. Reddit’s member ForeverDexus has shared the following video which shows a mission from it.
From what we can see, this campaign mode would play similarly to the multiplayer mode. Moreover, it appears that there was storyline behind it. So yeah, this wouldn’t be a campaign with a number of missions and nothing more.
As the leaker claimed, there is another video showing the same mission. Additionally, there is another one showcasing augmented impact effects within the Black Ops 4 engine.
Now in case you’re wondering, this appears to be the real deal and not a mod. After all, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 does not currently support mods or custom maps.
As ForeverDexus noted, the video below shows the last iteration of the campaign prior to its cancellation. This is a small segment from a larger mission that is largely unfinished. Furthermore, Black Ops 4’s campaign was meant to be more social, with fewer cut-scenes and explosions.
Enjoy!
