YouTube’s ‘Bang4BuckPC Gamer’ has shared a video, showing Cyberpunk 2077 running in 8K/Ultra settings and with Ray Tracing on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX3090. Furthermore, and in order to get playable framerates, the YouTuber used DLSS Ultra Performance.
With DLSS Ultra Performance in 8K and with all Ultra settings, the game ran with 30fps. Sure, some may say that DLSS is not native resolution. Still, we’re talking about 30fps in 8K, on a game that uses real-time ray tracing for multiple effects. There are some drops to 27fps during combat but yeah, that’s still amazing.
Now as we’ve already said, 8K gaming is something that won’t become mainstream for a long time. These 8K videos can simply give you a glimpse at the future, and nothing more. Basically, they are similar to the 4K/30fps videos we’ve shared a few years ago, when 4K gaming wasn’t possible on single GPUs (yeah, back then when SLI was still a thing).
But anyway, I personally prefer framerate over resolution. Thus, I’d take 4K/60fps (or even 1440p/60fps) over 8K/30fps any day of the week. But then again that’s just me.
Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
