Now here is something simple yet cool. YouTube’s ‘Mojo Swoptops’ has recreated locations from Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in Far Cry 5 Arcade.
As the YouTuber noted, all these scenes were created entirely in the Far Cry 5 Arcade Editor. And, they look kind of cool. In a way, the scenes for Fallout 3 and New Vegas can give us an idea of what proper remasters of them could look like. Not like we’ll get anything like that given Bethesda’s history but hey, it’s a cool concept.
Now the reason I’m saying we won’t be getting anything like that is because the “Next-Gen” Update for Fallout 4 was a huge letdown. Fallout 4 Next-Gen looks almost exactly like the original F4, and it cannot compete with a heavily modded version of it. Not only that but, from what we know, Bethesda does not plan to return to these older Fallout games.
Anyway, these videos are cool if you think about the limitations that Mojo Swoptops had to overcome. So, if you are a fan of these games, you can go ahead and check them out.
Speaking of Far Cry, rumor has it that the next part in the series, “Far Cry 7“, is scheduled to be released in Fall 2025. According to the latest rumor, this new Far Cry game will be also using the Snowdrop Engine. For those unaware, all the previous Far Cry games used the Dunia Engine. As we’ve reported multiple times, the Dunia Engine had a lot of CPU optimization issues. So, this engine switch could be great news.
If this rumor is legit, we may not hear anything about it until late 2024. My guess is that Ubisoft will be focusing this year on Assassin’s Creed Red and Star Wars Outlaws. So, don’t expect a Far Cry announcement this Summer.
Enjoy!
