Square Enix showcased Marvel’s Avengers behind closed doors at E3 2019 and the first gameplay footage from that presentation has been leaked online. This, low/potato quality off-camera video showcases 10 minutes of gameplay from what appears to be an alpha version.
As always, do keep in mind that this alpha demo was meant for the press and does not represent the quality of the final product. The game is currently scheduled for a May 2020 release so we expect EIDOS Montreal and Crystal Dynamics to further improve things.
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source.
Marvel’s Avengers is described as an epic action-adventure game that combines cinematic storytelling with single-player and co-operative gameplay. The game will not feature any lootboxes or pay to win mechanics, however, it will feature microtransactions for skins.
Unfortunately, there is no way to embed the video (and Square Enix has already taken down the previous YouTube link) so those interested can find and watch the video by visiting this Reddit post here.
