Tripwire Interactive has released the first developer diary for Maneater. As the press release reads, this first in a series of behind the scenes video developer diaries detailing the origins of Maneater’s vicious premise and a close look at how the developers at Tripwire Interactive (best known for Killing Floor 2) are working to bring the game’s predator protagonist to life.
Maneater is described as a single-player action RPG, set in the Gulf Coast’s unforgiving waters in which players will fight to survive in the open ocean, swamps and rivers with danger lurking at every depth.
Players will experience the ultimate power fantasy as the apex predator of the seas – a giant Shark. Players will terrorize the coastal waterways, tear swimmers and divers limb from limb, and give the humans a reason to fear them.
Given the fact that you will be a giant Shark, your only tools will be your wits, your jaws, and an uncanny ability to evolve as you feed.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
