Microsoft and Turn 10 have released the first in-engine trailer for the next-gen Forza Motorsport game. This new FM game will be called Forza Motorsport, and will support real-time ray tracing.
Unfortunately, Microsoft has not revealed any additional details about it. My guess is that Turn10 will use ray tracing in order to enhance the game’s reflections, and not for its Global Illumination or Ambient Occlusion.
There is currently no ETA on when Forza Motorsport will come out. However, the game will be available at launch day on Xbox Game Pass.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
UPDATE:
Microsoft has shared some additional tech details about the Ray Tracing in Forza Motorsport.
“With the new Forza Motorsport, ray tracing is coming to ForzaTech, you will see a dynamic world in 4K, 60fps, that is connected and dynamic – from surfaces of cars reflecting off each other, to brilliant red paint bouncing off intensely detailed track surfaces, and the interplay of light and shadow throughout the world.”

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
