A team of modders is currently working on a restoration project for the leaked 2001 version of Duke Nukem Forever. Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Restoration Project aims to complete Duke Nukem Forever as it was originally intended, and below you can find its first teaser trailers.
Let’s start with the First Slice Teaser Trailer. This is a cinematic trailer that also includes music from the legendary Duke3D composer Lee Jackson. So, in theory, this restoration project will also feature new music from Jackson himself.
The second trailer showcases some action from the game and its new enemy AI.
And lastly, the third trailer features some comparison scenes between the modded and the original leaked 2001 versions.
There is currently no ETA on when Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Restoration Project will come out. And, since this will be a huge project, I’m almost certain we won’t be playing it anytime soon. To be honest, I don’t expect a 2023 release date (and a 2024 release date may sound very optimistic at this stage).
But anyway, enjoy the trailers and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
