Modder ‘QuakerCraft’ has announced his plans to bring Half-Life Alpha to the Doom/GZDoom Engine. This mod aims to bring the alpha version of Valve’s classic shooter to the Doom Engine, so basically think of it as a demake.
For those unaware, Half-Life Alpha was a GoldSource Engine project that aimed to bring back the maps and enemies from Half-Life’s alpha builds. Its GoldSource version was released in 2017, and you can download it from here.
Now while Half-Life Alpha is not yet available for Doom, you can go ahead and download Half-Life Another Story. Half-Life Another Story is a re-imagination of Half Life in the Doom Engine (though it does not feature its alpha content). It looks retro-cool, so be sure to check it out.
In order to showcase the current state of the mod, QuakerCraft shared the following videos. And after watching them… yeap… that’s definitely Half-Life in Doom.
Speaking of Doom mods, we also suggest taking a look at the following ones. Doom Voxel is a must-have mod as it turns all of its 2D sprites into 3D voxels. Aliens Eradication TC is a must-have mod for all our Aliens fans. Doom RTX is yet another must-have mod as it introduces full path tracing effects to the game. Then we have Brutal Doom: Black Edition, a mod that attempts to bring Doom 3’s art style to the game. And lastly we have Schism which is a Doom/Hexen/Heretic mashup using Brutal Doom, as well as Bloom (a crossover between Blood and Doom).
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
UPDATE:
The first demo for this mod is now available for download.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
