YouTube’s ‘wwm0nkey’ has shared a new video, showing Halo Reach running in the latest version of the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia. This latest version of Xenia, which is available for download right now, appears to be running the game smoothly (or at least its multiplayer mode).
There are still some graphical glitches, and we don’t know whether its single-player mode can be played from start to finish without any game-breaking bugs, however this is the smoothest we’ve seen Halo Reach in Xenia.
Naturally, it will take a bit more time until PC gamers can play this Halo game on the PC. Still, we are getting there. Earlier this month we’ve shared other videos showing GUN, Bodycount and Halo 3 running in Xenia. Therefore, I believe it’s safe to say that in 2019 these titles will be playable.
Not only that, but Red Dead Redemption also appears to be running extremely well in RPCS3. Now I’m saying “extremely well” but in reality the game runs with 15-23fps. Still, that’s a massive improvement over the awful 5-10fps performance of the older RPCS3 builds.
So yeah, from the looks of it 2019 will be a pretty great year for both Xenia and RPCS3. Those interested can download the latest version of Xenia from here.
Enjoy!
