Cloud Imperium has just released a new video showing off 25 minutes of gameplay from the single-player campaign mode of Star Citizen, Squadron 42. And although the game has been in development for a few years, it still looks stunning.
The video includes cut-scenes made with the game’s engine, as well as propel gameplay sequences. So, you can get a pretty good idea of what the game looks like. Also, Cloud Imperium said that Squadron 42 is feature-complete. As such, it will now enter its polishing stage. The developers will now work on making the game run smoothly and improve how it feels to play.
Squadron 42 is the single-player story-driven game set in the same universe as Star Citizen. The game will run on StarEngine, and it’s got a bunch of famous actors in it. You’ll see people like Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Henry Cavill, Gillian Anderson, and John Rhys-Davis. And there are more actors like Liam Cunningham, Mark Strong, Craig Fairbrass, and Ben Mendelsohn in the game too.
Yesterday, we posted a cool tech video about StarEngine. You should definitely check it out. In that video, CI shows off the key graphical features of both Star Citizen and Squadron 42. But just so you know, it doesn’t show the upcoming Ray Tracing Global Illumination effects.
Lastly, there is still no ETA on when the game will come out.
Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!
