ArturiusTheMage has a pretty cool video from Gears 5, showcasing what this new part in the Gears of War series could look like as an FPS. ArturiusTheMage was able to glitch the camera, forcing the game to be played from a first-person perspective.
Now there are obviously some bugs here, however we can all agree that this actually looks pretty cool. Since Gears 5 uses a Win32 executable file, it will be interesting to see whether mods are supported. If they are, a modder might be able to create an unofficial first-person mode.

In case you’re wondering, our PC Performance Analysis may go live tomorrow. In order to avoid re-downloading the game on the i7 4930K system, we tried to copy its folder. However, we had some major issues with the Windows Store. Believe it or not, we are currently downloading the game on the main benchmark PC (i9 9900K) for the third time. So yeah, we may not have a comparison between the i7 4930K and the i9 9900K.
Gears 5 officially releases today, September 10th. NVIDIA also plans to release a new driver for it, so we’ll be using that driver for our benchmarks.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
