YouTube’s ‘Brian Vagie’ has recreated the Ironforge from World of Warcraft in Unreal Engine 5, using Lumen and Nanite. This video will give you an idea of what a remake of World of Warcraft could have looked like in a modern-day engine.
In order to create this fan remake of World of Warcraft, the artist used Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen reflections, Lumen Global Illumination and Nanite. Furthermore, he used Megascan assets as well as his own materials (created in Substance).
The end result is pretty amazing and we are certain that most World of Warcraft fans will find it cool. So, if you are one of them, go ahead and watch the video. Vagie also claimed that an NVIDIA RTX4090 is able to render it at 4K with 60fps.
Now contrary to some other UE5 projects, this one is not available for download. From what we know, Brian Vagie does not plan to release it to the public. In other words, this is simply a showcase video and nothing more. Still, we believe that it at least deserves the spotlight. After all, it does look great.
Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, I also suggest taking a look at these other fan remakes. For instance, we have these faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3. Then we have this amazing fan remake of STALKER. Let’s also not forget this Grand Theft Auto 6 fan concept in UE5. There is also an amazing fan remaster video for Need for Speed: Most Wanted. And lastly, you can find fan remakes of Death Stranding, Final Fantasy 9, Fallout 4, ARK: Survival Ascended, Fallout 4, Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Skyrim’s Whiterun. All of them are cool, so make sure to watch them.
Enjoy this World of Warcraft fan remake in Unreal Engine 5, and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
