Bloober Team and Anshar Studios debuted a new, cinematic story trailer for Layers of Fear at the Future Games Show. This trailer depicts the story of The Writer, the recently introduced a new protagonist in the series.
Showcasing a mysterious lighthouse and alluding to past horrors, this trailer invites players to gain a glimpse of the terrors that await them.
Layers of Fear is a tribute to fans of the series both new and old. This new title represents the definitive Layers of Fear experience, making it the series’ crowning work. Speaking on the game’s impending release, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babiano had this to say:
“The official premiere of Layers of Fear is just around the corner, and it’s no secret that everyone at Bloober Team and Anshar Studios has been waiting for this moment for a long time. We are thus closing an important chapter in our history, and are very much interested in general feedback from the Layers of Fear community. We hope that fans of the series—as well as new players—will enjoy the unique atmosphere of the game and immerse themselves fully in it. We wish you great fun, as much as we were having during the development process!”
Built on Unreal Engine 5, Layers of Fear supports Ray Tracing for reflections, and Lumen for its lighting. However, the game does not support UE5’s Nanite.
Bloober Team will release Layers of Fear on June 15th, 2023. The team has provided us with a review code, so expect a PC Performance Analysis at launch.
Enjoy!
