The Division Heartland feature 2

Leaked gameplay footage surfaces for Ubisoft’s canceled The Divison Hearland

A couple of days ago, we informed you about the cancelation of Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland. And today, we present you a leaked video from it, showing over 3 minutes of gameplay action from one of its closed beta phases.

This video was uploaded on YouTube 10 months ago. That was during one of the game’s closed beta phases. As such, it can give you an idea of what the game looked like and how it played in that beta testing.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland was a F2P game where you play online with others. It was meant to be a survival-action shooter set in a fictional rural community in Middle America. In the game, you are a trained Division agent from across the nation. Players would respond to a call for help and would try to solve the mysteries of a rural community in mid-crisis.

From what I can see, this is exactly what you’d expect from a F2P spin-off of The Division. The gunplay mechanics seem similar. The graphics are also pretty good for a beta build (though we can assume that it shares a lot of assets with The Division 2).

As I said numerous times, I don’t know why Ubisoft decided to invest in Heartland. That was a game that nobody had asked for. Not only that but The Division 2 was already a successful game (at least commercially) so it would make more sense to focus on its sequel. And yes, from what I know, The Division 3 is still in development as we speak.

Next week, Ubisoft will release a new game, called XDefiant. XDefiant is a F2P game where players compete in fast-paced arenas. In XDefiant, you can create your own loadouts and join special factions to fight in teams. The goal is for your team, called the Defiants, to win by dominating the battlefield.

So, place your bets, everyone. Will this last longer than Hyper Scape? Will it be shut down by the end of 2024? Or will it be a sleeper hit?

Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!
