Ubisoft has shared two new gameplay/in-engine trailers for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, showcasing the game’s graphics. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be powered by the Snowdrop Engine, and will release on December 7th, 2023.
With Snowdrop’s microdata system, Massive can propagate thousands of assets in one frame. Additionally, the game will have a varied amount of vegetation, and will have more objects on screen than any other game using this engine.
Furthermore, Snowdrop can handle more complex shaders, with the game promising to have many interactive shaders. These shaders can be affected by the players, the real-time wind simulations and interactions with the environment.
Ubisoft has also added a new volumetric cloud system in Snowdrop. And yes, this new Avatar game will be using real-time Ray Tracing effects. According to the devs, the game will support both Ray Tracing Global Illumination and Reflections.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
