Red Dead Redemption Remastered

Red Dead Redemption Remaster PC has visual improvements over the PS5 version

YouTube’s ‘Cycu1’ has shared a video comparison between the PC and PS5 versions of Red Dead Redemption Remaster. And, from what we can see, the PC version will have some visual/graphical improvements over the PS4/PS5 version. So, let’s take a look at them.

For this comparison, used identical scenes for both the PC and PS5 version. The PC footage is from the PC trailer that recently came out. The PS5 version is basically the PS4 build running in backward compatibility mode.

Right from the get-go, we see changes to colorgrading. The PC version also has a better lighting system, better shadows, better draw distance and better bloom effects. To be honest, the first comparison scene at 1:50 does not do justice to the PC. In fact, I prefer the colorgrading of the PS5 version. Not only that but the “hero light” that is used behind Marston makes him look weird on PC.

In short, this isn’t just the Nintendo Switch or PS4/PS5 version being ported to the PC. Sadly, though, the textures appear exactly the same. That’s a bummer as higher quality textures would benefit the game. But hey, we all know that this is the first thing that modders will fix.

Red Dead Redemption is coming to PC onย October 29th. Red Dead Redemption Remaster on PC will require a Rockstar account, and it will beย priced at $49,99.

Now while the PC version will look better than the PS4/PS5 version, I still don’t believe it justifies its high price. This is a really old game. And, to be honest, most players won’t be able to spot these visual improvements while gaming. They are welcome of course. However, the price still seems a bit high.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
