Sonic and Shadow fans, here is something really special for you today. João Filipe Santiago has released a live-action/CG short film called Project Shadow that focuses on Shadow the Hedgehog.
This film tells the origins of Shadow. For those unaware, Shadow was created by Professor Gerald Robotnik through genetic engineering as part of an experiment to cure his granddaughter Maria from a deadly illness.
Now as you will, the lipsync in the English version is not that accurate. That’s because the original dub for this short film was in Portuguese. Once you notice it, you might get distracted. Or at least this happened to me.
As a fan-made short film, this one looks incredible. This is easily one of the best fan movies we’ve seen to date. Santiago and his team have managed to provide a high-quality film. The CG for Shadow also looks excellent. If I had to nitpick, I’d say that the CG soldiers feel a bit floaty. Other than that, though, this feels really good. So, if you’re a Sonic fan, you should definitely watch it.
The timing for this fan film is also excellent. Sonic 2 The Movie ended with a sneak peek of Shadow. So, in theory, the third movie may feature it.
And that is that. There is nothing more to add here. Just sit back and enjoy the film!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
