Now here is something really cool. YouTube’s ‘EsinReborn’ has recreated Dark Souls’ Undead Burg level in Unreal Engine 4. And, contrary to other recreations, this one features some basic gameplay elements.
In the following video, we see the main character (whose 3D model is obviously a placeholder) fighting some enemies. Not only that, but this map features physics effects, meaning that the player can destroy small objects (like in the original Dark Souls games). Moreover, EsinReborn has implemented some basic UI icons and an inventory system.
Seriously, this looks really cool as this fan remake feels like a game (and not just a map in another engine). Keep also in mind that it is coming from a single person.
Unfortunately, and from what we know so far, EsinReborn does not plan to release this fan remake to the public.
Lastly, you can find below more HD fan remakes of various games in Unreal Engine. For instance, you can take a look at this Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness Fan Remake. There is also a Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II Remake, an amazing Batman 1989 fan video, and a stunning Final Fantasy X Fan Remake. Oh, and let’s not forget this playable demo of Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero Fan Remake.
Enjoy!
