Silent Hill 2 is considered by many as the best part in Konami’s horror series. And even though Konami does not plan to release any remake similar to the one that Capcom offered for Resident Evil 2, someone is working on a proof of concept project, aiming to bring some scenes from this game to Unreal Engine 4.
Now what’s really interesting with this fan remake is that YouTube’s member ‘unknownexe96’ has implemented a first-person perspective that makes this Silent Hill 2 project look quite interesting. In case this YouTuber’s name rings any bells, he’s the same guy responsible for the Resident Evil 3 proof of concept fan remake in Unreal Engine 4 we shared last week.
Now I don’t know whether this YouTuber will be able to complete both of these really interesting projects. Obviously I don’t expect a single person to develop full remakes of Resident Evil 3 and Silent Hill 2 in Unreal Engine 4, however it would be really cool to explore these environments ourselves. Oh, and while we are at it, some enemies from these games in these new environments would be even better.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
