GFA Games has released a brand new gameplay trailer for its upcoming STALKER-inspired first-person action MMORPG, PIONER. Moreover, the team launched the game’s Steam store page, revealing that it now targets a 2025 release date. So, let’s take a look at it, shall we?
In PIONER, your main goal is to survive and explore a dangerous world filled with both PVE and PVP challenges. The devs say they will focus on creating exciting events, interesting factions, and engaging quests for players to enjoy.
As an MMO, PIONER will focus on player-driven stories and social interaction. The game will offer both PvE and PvP gameplay. Players can take part in story quests or faction missions. By earning loyalty with different groups, they can unlock rewards and discover more of the story.
The game is designed to pull players into its world, encouraging them to explore, plan, and survive while making meaningful choices. The world will keep changing and growing, with more information coming as its 2025 release gets closer. So, expect to hear more of it soon.
The devs also stated that the game will have an extraction mode, called Shadowlands. This will be a high-stakes survival and treasure hunting mode, accessible within PIONER. This will be an additional mode, and not the main one.
GFA Games has also shared some generic/preliminary PC requirements. According to them, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i3-6100 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1060. The devs recommend an Intel Core i5-8600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 2060.
As said, these are early PC specs and they do not represent the final ones. My guess is that GFA Games will share more details next year. PIONER uses Unreal Engine 4. And, from what I know, there are no plans to upgrade it to UE5.
Overall, PIONER attempts to appeal to a lot of PC gamers. Since we won’t get an official MMO STALKER game anytime soon, this may be the next closest thing to it. So, I’m curious to see whether it will be a success or not.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
