Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is one of the few COD games that did not feature a single-player campaign mode. However, it appears that Treyarch and Raven have been testing a 2V2 career mode, and below you can find an in-dev video from it.
For what it’s worth, I’ve always enjoyed the single-player campaign modes of the COD games. Most of them were technical marvels, showcasing what their engine could achieve. And yes, even COD: Ghosts with its “fish AI” was a great-looking game on PC.
Anyway, this in-dev video is around one minute and shows off some animations. As you will see, it’s nowhere close to an alpha version of the campaign. Still, it’s fascinating witnessing early WIP footage from canceled game modes. Or at least that’s what we believe.
This video also reminded me of the one for Doom 4. Now in case you didn’t know, Doom 2016 was originally meant to be a Call of Duty clone. Thankfully, though, id Software realized that this wasn’t what most Doom fans wanted, and canceled it.
Speaking of Call of Duty, according to the latest rumors, this year we’ll be getting Modern Warfare 3. My guess is that Activision will officially reveal the game this Summer.
Enjoy!
