YouTube’s ‘Anil ISBILIR’ has recreated Fallout 2’s Klamath in Unreal Engine 5. In order to create this small city, the artist used Lumen, SSAO and Ultra Dynamic Sky for lighting. Additionally, the artist used Quixel Megascans assets with minimal editing.
The end result is really cool, so be sure to watch it if you are fans of Fallout 2. And, in case it wasn’t clear enough, this is just a concept video. Anil is not working on a full-fledged remake of this classic Fallout game.
I also suggest tempering your expectations. While this is a cool fan project, it will now blow you away. In other words, this isn’t pushing Unreal Engine 5 to its limits. So yeah, make sure to also keep that in mind.
Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, I also suggest taking a look at these other fan remake projects. For instance, here are fan remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3. Then we have the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Fan Remake. Let’s also not forget this amazing fan remake of STALKER. And lastly, you can find fan remakes of Death Stranding, ARK: Survival Ascended, Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion and Skyrim’s Whiterun. All of them are cool, so make sure to watch them.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
