YouTube’s ‘Beyond Dreams’ has shared a video, showcasing STALKER 2 running in 8K on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 with Reshade Ray Tracing. To be more precise, the YouTuber used the Complete RT 1.5 Mod to tweak and enhance the game’s graphics.
Going into more details, Complete RT 1.5 brings better global illumination and ambient occlusion to the game. Moreover, there’s an improved color grading, as well as some tweaks to the LODs.
The biggest improvement, in my opinion, is the grass shadows. By default, the grass does not have any shadows, making it seem flat at times. Thanks to Reshade, though, you can add some better AO and grass shadows to the game.
As for the ReSTIR G.I. solution, which is being implemented with the Complete RT 1.5 Mod, I’m not really that impressed. You see, STALKER 2 uses Lumen, and its GI already looked great. Not only that but by playing the game in HDR, you’ll get visuals comparable to what is being shown here. Seriously, the game in HDR looks miles better than in SDR. The skylight, in particular, looks way, WAY better in HDR.
To get STALKER 2 running at 8K, Beyond Dreams used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. Naturally, the YouTuber also used DLSS 3 Quality as it’s impossible to run the game at Native 8K. Still, even with DLSS 3 Quality, you’ll get the benefits of 8K, even when playing on 4K (or even 144p) monitors.
STALKER 2 came out last week and has already sold one million units. To be honest, though, this is a really buggy game. I totally understand the difficulties that GSC GameWorld faced. However, this feels more like a beta. The game has a lot of bugs, as well as numerous balance issues. The spongy mutants, and in particular the chimera, will be a big issue for a lot of players. We also have enemies that will be spawning right next to you. And then we have an endless amount of bugs. I’ve played Cyberpunk 2077 at launch and, at least in my opinion, STALKER 2 is worse than it.
Anyway, speaking of STALKER 2, you can also download two great mods for it. The first one will remove the inventory weight limit, whereas the second will make the Bloodsuckers and Poltergeists less tanky. Also, be sure to read our PC Performance Analysis.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
