YouTube’s ‘Beyond Dreams’ has shared a video, showcasing Star Wars Jedi Survivor with the Ultra+ Mod and Complete Ray Tracing Reshade V1.4. For this video, the YouTuber used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 which ran the game at 8K in real-time. So, let’s take a look at it.
Now while Beyond Dreams claims that this is running at 8K, I’m almost certain that he used FSR. You see, at 0:30 there are obvious grass artifacts that look similar to those of other games that use FSR. So, that’s not Native 8K. This of course should not come as a surprise. Technically, it’s still 8K. Nevertheless, it would have been better if the YouTuber included the graphics settings he used at the start of the video.
For those unaware, Ultra+ is a mod that was released in September 2023. This mod made some pretty bold claims when it came out, like fixing some shader hitches. As I’ve tried Ultra+ on both Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Hogwarts Legacy, I can say that it does not fix the traversal stutters. So no, don’t expect to be getting a buttery smooth experience with it. You’ll still get stutters.
Anyway, the mod claims to improve graphics by improving the water, making all the textures look sharper and more consistent, increasing how far you can see, and enhancing the lighting. If you haven’t tried it, you should at least give it a go. As said, though, don’t expect miracles from it.
On the other hand, Complete RT is a Ray Tracing Reshade. This mod has one of the most advanced screen-space Ray Tracing Shaders, letting you add GI, AO, Matte, and Glossy Reflections to your games. It also offers Color Grading, dynamic Depth of Field, and an immersive Camera Mod. Its latest version, V1.4, came out two days ago. So, this video showcases what it can achieve in PC games.
To be honest, I’m a bit disappointed that there are no before/after comparison scenes. Beyond Dreams included these comparisons in his older videos. So, that’s a bummer as you can’t see the visual improvements of Ultra+ with Complete RT V1.4.
To its credit, this is the best video I’ve seen for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. It looks sharp, it doesn’t have aliasing, and it has great colors. Still, it’s a shame there aren’t any before/after comparisons.
Speaking of 8K, you may also be interested in these other videos from some other triple-A games. For instance, here are Just Cause 3, GTA 5 and Crysis 3 running in 8K. You can also find The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Skyrim in 8K. Let’s also not forget the 8K videos for Red Dead Redemption 2, Batman Arkham Knight, Battlefield 1 & Metal Gear Solid 5, as well as Diablo 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, COD: Modern Warfare, RIDE 4, Halo Remaster, Forza Horizon 5, The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Monster Hunter Rise and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Enjoy!
