Skyrim Helgen in Unreal Engine 5

Take a look at the true scale of Skyrim’s Helgen in Unreal Engine 5

YouTube’s “Leo Torres” has shared a new video, showcasing Skyrim’s Helgen in Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen and Nanite. This will give you an idea of what a remake of Skyrim would look like in UE5. So, let’s take a look at it.

This video is part of a project to create a more realistic and lore-accurate version of Tamriel. The environment in this remake has 16 times more detail than the original.

The artist created this scene in Unreal Engine 5.4 using an RTX 3090. Torres combined third-party models with custom assets made in Blender. He used Nanite for all models and plants. Plus, Lumen was used for the lighting and reflections.

If you are a Skyrim fan, I highly recommend watching the video. From what I can see, this scene can match the quality of modern-day games. So, it will be interesting to see whether TES6 will be able to match these visuals.

I also recommend watching the other Skyrim UE5 videos the artist has shared. Thus far, Torres has recreated MarkarthBlackreachWhiterunSolitudeWinterholdFalkreathRiftenWindhelmMorthal, Riverwood and Dawnstar. So, in a way, you get to see what a full proper remake of Skyrim could look like. Pretty neat.

The only downside here is that these recreations are not available to the public. So no. You can’t download them and run them. These are created for portfolio purposes. Still, they look amazing. So, be sure to check them out.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For instance, you can find some faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool. A few months ago, we also shared an amazing remake of Toy Story 2. Then there’s this cool fan remake of Metal Gear Solid. You should also watch the full-on remake video for Final Fantasy 9, and this HD-2D Fan Remake for Xenogears.

Need for Speed Carbon and Tony Hawk’s Underground have also received some cool remakes. Oh, and there is a fan remake of Tomb Raider The Last Revelation, featuring Angelina Jolie and Christoph Walz. And if that’s not enough, there are fan remakes for Star Wars: Republic CommandoDeath StrandingFallout 4Grand Theft Auto 4Need for Speed: Most WantedFallout 4Resident Evil 1, and Silent Hill 3’s Lakeside Amusement Park.
