Modder ‘SGtMarkIV’, creator of Brutal Doom, has shared a gameplay video, showcasing… wait for it… Brutal Quake 2. SGtMarkIV plans to release this project after the release of Brutal Doom V22.
Going into more details, this is a mod in GZDoom and Zandronum that reads the original files of Quake 2. So, what you are about to see is in the GZDoom/Zandronum Engines, and not in the Quake 2 Engine.
Brutal Quake 2 will feature new maps, tweaked gunplay, and some new effects. And, to be honest, it looks really cool. When it comes out, the mod will obviously require a copy of Quake 2, otherwise it won’t work.
Enjoy the following gameplay video and stay tuned for more. Kudos also to our reader ‘durka durka’ for bringing this to our attention!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
