Last month, we informed you about the Nintendo Switch emulator, Ryujinx, booting Splatoon 2 and running Sonic Mania with 100fps. And today we are happy to report that the latest Nintendo Switch exclusive Mario game, Super Mario Odyssey can be booted in this emulator.
As said, RyujiNX can only boot the game at this stage. Super Mario Odyssey is far from being emulated and it currently runs at 1-2fps. In other words, it’s a similar case to RPCS3 running initially Red Dead Redemption with only 1-2fps. It’s the first step towards emulating the game and performance will undoubtedly improve in future builds.
Now while this may look meaningless to some people, it’s a huge milestone for its dev team. RyujiNX has been under development for almost 3 months and progresses at an incredible pace. The emulator can already run Sonic Mania, The Binding Of isaac and Cave Story+, and can boot Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey!
