A couple of days ago, Sony revealed a remake of Until Dawn for PS5 and PC. And yesterday, YouTube’s ‘Cycu1’ shared an early graphics comparison video between the original version and this upcoming remake. So, let’s take a look at it, shall we?
Until Dawn Remake will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. The game will have a new lighting system, and it will support ray tracing. According to the devs, RT will enhance the game’s character shadows. Plus, there will be a third-person camera mode. Now that’s a welcome surprise. Players can also expect contextual character movement animations.
From what we can see, the remake does look better than the original version. One of the biggest differences is in the hair rendering. The remake clearly has better hair than the original version. You can also spot better textures in some places. And yes, the lighting received a next-gen upgrade.
The good thing here is that the game seems to have the exact same cut-scenes. As such, we get the following one-to-one comparison scenes that you can see in the following video. So, make sure to watch it as it can give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
Sony plans to release Until Dawn Remake on PC in 2024. For those wondering, there is no exact ETA on when it will come out. Sony hasn’t also revealed yet the game’s PC requirements.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
