YouTuber ‘Upside Down’ is currently working on a fan remaster of Diablo 2 in Unreal Engine 4. The YouTuber is currently recreating Act 4 and aims to complete the level by June 20th. However, this appears to be a map for portfolio purposes and not for a public release.
Still, Upside Down will – most likely – release a flythrough video from the final version once it’s complete. Moreover, you can find below a video, showing the current state of this map. As we can see, the YouTuber has done an excellent work. This map, even in its early stage, feels like it belongs to a remastered version of Diablo 2.
In order to create this map, Upside Down used 3Ds max 2021, Zbrush, Photoshop, Unreal Engine 4 and Substance Painter.
Naturally, we’ll make sure to share with you the final video once it’s available. So yeah, this isn’t exactly what most Diablo fans have been hoping for. I mean, there were rumors that Blizzard was developing a Diablo 2 Remaster. According to those rumors, that Remaster would be announced at this year’s Blizzcon. However, Blizzcon has been cancelled so we don’t know when and if Blizzard will announce such a game.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
