Martin Escageda shared with us a live action film that is based on Nyu Media’s upcoming fighting game, Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm. According to Martin, Nyu Media contacted him to create this live action short. While we acknowledge that a live action short based on a fighting game is quite challenging, we have to admit that we were let down by this movie’s first half. The second half – in which Martin Escageda tried to capture the game’s aesthetics – is better, though we’ve seen better. Still, it’s a good try so make sure to at least give it a go. Why you ask? Because despite its somehow disappointing end results, it’s pretty obvious that it took a lot of effort to create it. Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
